Seoul: The presidential office announced Wednesday that it is closely observing recent developments in China, where the leaders of North Korea, China, and Russia made a historic joint appearance for the first time in over sixty years.
According to Yonhap News Agency, presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung addressed the media in an afternoon briefing, stating, "We are watching the situation closely as the international landscape is highly complex." Although the office has not made any official evaluation of the trilateral meeting, Kang emphasized Seoul's ongoing vigilance concerning key neighboring countries and confirmed that there has been no change in that stance.
Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un stood alongside Russia's Vladimir Putin and China's Xi Jinping at a military parade. The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of what China regards as its victory over Japan and the conclusion of World War II.
