Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced that its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV has received a certification in Germany for its ability to display deep black colors in bright environments, thanks to its glare-free technology.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean tech giant revealed that its S95F TV, which is set to be released in 2025, has been certified by the Germany-based institute Verband der Elektrotechnik. This certification is awarded for the TV's capability to showcase "real black" colors. The TV delivers reflection-free black images, measured at levels below 0.005 nits in dark environments, while maintaining clear color visibility even under direct sunlight.
A nit, a unit of luminance, is equivalent to one candela per square meter. Samsung emphasized that this certification highlights the S95F TV's advanced display technology.
Seol Hoon, head of Samsung Electronics' consumer electronics division, expressed enthusiasm about the recognition, stating, "We look forward to bringing more customers the opportunity to experience world-class picture quality with the deepest blacks and color clarity."
