KOSPI 200 Closing Prices Reflect Declines in Major Firms

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a mixed performance with several prominent companies experiencing declines at the close of the trading day. Among the notable decreases, Samsung Life fell to 155,200, down by 4,900, and Samsung C and T declined by 2,900 to 193,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other significant companies also faced downturns. Hanwha's stock decreased by 2,500, bringing it to 91,900, while Hyundai Rotem witnessed a substantial drop of 11,500, closing at 211,500. Additionally, ShinhanGroup and KEPCO E and C saw their prices decline by 1,200 and 1,800, respectively.

In contrast, there were some positive movements on the index. NCsoft's shares increased by 13,000, reaching 240,000, and LGCHEM saw a rise of 4,000, closing at 292,000. Furthermore, LG Electronics experienced a gain of 900, ending the day at 77,900, while OTOKI's shares went up by 5,000 to 429,000.

Despite some companies posting gains, the overall trend for the day was marked by declines. Other firms such as Kakao, Doosan Enerbility, and HanmiSemi also reported decreases in their stock prices, reflecting a challenging trading environment for the day.
