Seoul: The music video for “APT.,” the hit collaborative single by BLACKPINK’s Rose and Bruno Mars, has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing 2 billion views on YouTube. This achievement was reached 335 days after its release on October 18, 2024, setting a new record for the fastest K-pop video to reach this viewership milestone.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the milestone was confirmed by her agency, The Black Label. This marks Rose’s third music video to surpass 2 billion views, following BLACKPINK’s hits “Ddu-du Ddu-du” and “Kill This Love.” With this latest achievement, Rose becomes the first K-pop artist to have music videos exceed 2 billion views both as a group member and as a soloist.
“APT.” is a track from Rose’s debut full-length album, “rosie,” which gained significant global popularity. It dominated major music charts in South Korea and internationally upon its release. Further cementing its success, Rose won the Song of the Year award for “APT.” at the MTV Video Music Awards in the United States on September 7 (U.S. time).
