Seoul: The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) announced its recent hosting of a seminar aimed at assisting South Korean businesses in selecting sites for their operations within the United States. This initiative is part of efforts to facilitate South Korean firms' business expansion into the U.S. market.
According to Yonhap News Agency, AMCHAM collaborated with CBRE, a global commercial real estate services company, to conduct the seminar on Thursday. The event focused on providing practical strategies to support South Korean companies as they navigate the complexities of expanding operations into the world's largest economy.
AMCHAM Chairman James Kim, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of site selection for South Korean companies that are accelerating their investments in the U.S. He highlighted the need for businesses to consider a range of factors, including incentives, skilled talent, efficient logistics, and local partnerships, to ensure the long-term success of their ventures.
Kim further noted the significant commitments made by South Korean firms in sectors such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, batteries, clean energy, and shipbuilding. He expressed pride in supporting these companies at a critical juncture of their expansion journey into the U.S. market.
CBRE Vice Chairman Eric Stavriotis also addressed the seminar, pointing out the "incredible opportunity" for South Korean businesses within the booming U.S. infrastructure market. He stressed that a well-managed site selection process can lead to substantial financial savings for these companies.
