Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reaffirmed his country's "invariable" stance on ensuring security through its nuclear forces, highlighting steady preparations for its "nuclear counteraction" as an "essential top-priority task," state media reported Saturday. He made these remarks on Friday, when he met with scientists and technicians in the nuclear field, and presided over a key consultative meeting on the production of nuclear materials and weapons.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the North's leader stressed that the country places a top priority on steadily bolstering its nuclear capabilities, calling it an "unchangeable duty." Kim emphasized the significance of maintaining a powerful deterrent, with nuclear forces serving as the backbone of peacekeeping and security strategies.
Kim was quoted as saying that the logic of security by force with nuclear capabilities is the "invariable stand" of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). This reaffirmation underscores North Korea's commitment to its nuclear strategy amidst ongoing global discussions on denuclearization.
