KOSPI 200 Stocks See Mixed Performance with Significant Declines in Key Sectors

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a mixed performance in its latest trading session, with several major companies experiencing significant declines in their stock prices. Among the notable decliners were HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Korea Zinc, which saw substantial reductions in their share values.

According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries experienced a notable decline in its share price, falling by 21,000 to close at 496,000. Similarly, Korea Zinc recorded a significant drop, closing at 1,386,000 after a decline of 233,000. Other companies such as HD Hyundai Electric and Krafton also faced downturns, with their share prices decreasing by 18,000 and 13,000, respectively.

On the other hand, some companies managed to buck the trend with positive performances. LS Corporation's shares rose by 4,700, closing at 175,900, making it one of the day's top gainers. SK ie technology also saw an increase, with its stock price rising by 1,400 to end at 29,300, while Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. experienced an uptick of 9,500, closing at 220,000.

The retail sector showed mixed results, with BGF Retail maintaining its previous closing price of 105,700, while other companies such as Doosan Bobcat and Netmarble saw decreases in their stock values, dropping by 200 and 1,400, respectively. Meanwhile, SKCHEM experienced an increase in its stock price, climbing by 800 to reach 59,100.

Investors are closely monitoring these fluctuations, particularly the significant drop in HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Korea Zinc, which could impact market sentiment in the coming sessions.
