London: Korean Air Co. announced its decision to incorporate Airbus' advanced data-driven predictive maintenance solution to enhance operational efficiency and aircraft reliability.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement was finalized on Thursday at the MRO Europe 2025 conference in London. This adoption of the Skywise Fleet Performance+ system is a strategic move by Korean Air as it prepares for its integration with Asiana Airlines Inc.
The Airbus system employs advanced data analytics to identify potential component issues before they arise. Initially, the system will be implemented across Korean Air's A321neo, A330, A350, and A380 fleets, with plans to extend it to Asiana Airlines' Airbus fleet following the merger of the two airlines.
"Our data-driven maintenance strategy has already prevented over 100 potential flight disruptions in 2024," stated Oh Jong-hoon, head of the predictive maintenance team at Korean Air. "This upgrade is a strategic step to ensure we maintain the highest levels of operational reliability as our fleet grows."
