Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mix of gains and losses, with notable performances from several major companies. LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp saw an increase, closing at 73,100 with a rise of 1,100 points. Meanwhile, LG Energy Solution experienced a significant surge, climbing 13,500 points to close at 434,000. In contrast, HYOSUNG HEAVY faced a decline, dropping 34,000 points to a closing price of 1,580,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies also experienced shifts in their stock prices. DOOSAN made notable gains, rising by 91,000 points to reach 697,000. YoulchonChem increased by 3,800 points, closing at 38,150. On the downside, HANWHA AEROSPACE fell by 24,000 points, ending at 912,000, and HDC HOLDINGS saw a decrease of 810 points, closing at 17,150.
HMM and HYUNDAI WIA had differing outcomes, with HMM decreasing by 150 points to 20,800, while HYUNDAI WIA rose by 900 points to 52,400. KumhoPetrochem also experienced an upswing of 1,200 points, reaching 112,300. Conversely, Mobis declined by 1,000 points, ending at 308,000.
KEPCO showed a positive trend, going up by 2,500 points to close at 42,700. However, SamsungSecu and SamsungE and A both experienced declines, with SamsungSecu dropping 1,200 points to 74,400 and SamsungE and A falling 450 points to 27,850. SAMSUNG C and T and SAMSUNG CARD also faced decreases, with the former dropping 6,500 points to 210,500 and the latter decreasing by 200 points to 49,450.
In the retail sector, LOTTE SHOPPING fell by 400 points to 66,900, while KT declined slightly by 50 points, closing at 49,950. LG Uplus also experienced a decrease, dropping 300 points to 14,910. Meanwhile, KT and G saw an increase of 700 points, closing at 139,400.
