Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a notable shift as several leading companies registered declines while a few managed to post gains. Among the stocks that ended lower, HyundaiMtr experienced the most substantial drop, closing at 252,000, down by 9,000. Other significant decreases included SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD., which fell by 4,500 to finish at 258,000, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, declining by 4,000 to 57,700.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the stock market also observed some gains. LS saw a rise, closing at 206,000, an increase of 5,000. Nongshim's stock price went up by 3,500, ending at 434,500. Despite these positive movements, the overall trend was characterized by declines, particularly in key industrial and financial sectors.
Additional companies that faced downturns included KCC, which decreased by 4,000 to 413,500, and HYUNDAIGLOVIS, which saw a reduction of 5,000, closing at 168,400. Meanwhile, some stocks such as DongwonInd and Taihan Cable and Solution showed resilience, with DongwonInd climbing by 1,250 to 44,000 and Taihan Cable and Solution increasing by 290 to 17,930.
