KOSPI 200 Closes with Mixed Performance as Doosan and Samsung Electronics Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced varied movements in the stock market, closing with a mix of gains and losses on Friday. Key performers included Doosan and Samsung Electronics, both of which saw significant increases in their stock prices.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Doosan's stock price surged by 19,000 KRW to close at 801,000 KRW, marking one of the most substantial gains among the listed companies. Samsung Electronics also demonstrated strong performance, with its stock rising by 2,300 KRW to end at 98,800 KRW. Other notable increases were seen in SKC, which climbed 6,600 KRW, and LS, which went up by 5,500 KRW.

In contrast, several companies faced declines. CJ saw a decrease of 2,300 KRW, closing at 170,800 KRW, while Yuhan's stock fell by 1,400 KRW to settle at 114,100 KRW. Kia Corp. and HMM also recorded slight declines, with their stocks dropping by 100 KRW and 200 KRW, respectively.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index displayed a varied closing, reflecting the dynamic nature of the stock market. Despite some losses, the index was buoyed by notable gains from key stocks such as Doosan and Samsung Electronics.
