Seoul: Woorifinancialgroup on Wednesday reported its third-quarter net income of 1.29 trillion won (US$902.9 million), marking a 40.9 percent increase from the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the quarter amounted to 987.7 billion won, compared to 1.17 trillion won a year ago. Additionally, the company's revenue experienced a growth of 7.5 percent, reaching 8 trillion won.
The reported earnings surpassed market expectations, as analysts had predicted an average net profit of 990.8 billion won, based on a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
