Seoul: Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang has declared artificial intelligence (AI) technology as the most "impeccable technology of all time," while hinting at significant upcoming announcements regarding Nvidia's partnership with South Korean firms. Huang made these remarks during an event in southern Seoul commemorating the 25th anniversary of the launch of Nvidia's GeForce graphics processing unit.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Huang expressed that AI will have a transformative impact on every industry, including health care, transportation, and manufacturing. He emphasized the potential for AI to revolutionize various scientific fields. When asked about the future growth of Nvidia, Huang confidently affirmed that the company would become substantially larger.
Huang also noted Nvidia's historic achievement as the first company to reach a market capitalization of US$5 trillion. His visit to the ceremony followed meetings with Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong. The visit was at the invitation of South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung and included discussions about Nvidia's partnerships with South Korean companies.
Huang refrained from revealing specific details about the partnership, stating that President Lee Jae Myung would announce the news. He indicated that the announcement would likely relate to AI, potentially involving robotics, and would be entirely associated with Korea.
Huang acknowledged Nvidia's long-standing presence in South Korea, particularly highlighting the widespread use of GeForce in the country's internet cafes, known locally as PC bangs. He expressed gratitude towards South Korean consumers for their support.
On the topic of trade negotiations between the United States and China, Huang described former U.S. President Donald Trump as a "great negotiator" with a positive relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Huang conveyed confidence that both leaders would strive to negotiate the best possible deal for their respective countries.
