Gyeongju: The White House has released a photo capturing U.S. President Donald Trump examining a T-shirt emblazoned with his mug shot during a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The meeting took place in the southeastern city of Gyeongju earlier this week as part of a summit.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the photo was shared on the social media platform X by the White House on Wednesday (U.S. time). It depicts President Lee and President Trump viewing various items, including the T-shirt with the mug shot and the words "NEVER SURRENDER." In the image, President Lee appears to be engaging Trump in conversation and directing his attention to the shirt, while Trump points at his own mug shot.
The wall in the photo showcases other pieces of memorabilia, such as a "Make America Great Again" hat, a photo book, a Bible, and Korean translations of books authored by Trump and his wife, Melania Trump. The mug shot featured on the T-shirt was taken in 2023, following Trump's indictment on charges related to efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia. This image has gained iconic status among Trump's supporters and has appeared on various merchandise during last year's presidential campaign.
Trump's visit to South Korea occurred on Wednesday and Thursday, where he engaged in summit talks with President Lee alongside the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation gathering.
