At a recent press event held on Wednesday, the creative team behind the new series shared insights into the elements that have fueled this anticipation.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Carol Choi, the executive vice president of content strategy for Disney's Asia-Pacific region, emphasized the series' compelling storyline, supported by a world-class international cast and top-tier production team. This combination is aimed at delivering exceptional storytelling to audiences. Choi described the project as a "high-stakes spy romance," blending elements of espionage, romance, and action to create a captivating cross-genre series.
She further elaborated on the series' themes, highlighting the presence of political intrigue, romantic tension, and action-packed sequences. Choi noted that, much like Disney's global hits, "Tempest" features a story with specific local elements while addressing universal themes of power and ambition, truth and trust, which are essential for creating content that resonates globally.
