Acting President Han Vows to Address Urgent Issues After Reinstatement

Seoul: Acting President Han Duck-soo said Monday he would spare no efforts to address urgent issues after he was reinstated, appreciating the Constitutional Court's ruling that dismissed his impeachment. Han made the remark as he returned to office 87 days after the National Assembly voted to impeach him over his alleged role in suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol's Dec. 3 declaration of martial law, among other reasons.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Han emphasized the importance of preparing for and responding to global changes through collaboration between the private and public sectors. "I will take the lead in preparing for and responding to global changes through partnership between the private and public sectors," Han told reporters upon arriving at the government complex in Seoul.

Han further committed to ensuring South Korea's development amid a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. "I will do my best to ensure that South Korea continues to develop in this era of great geopolitical transformation," he added.

In light of the polarization over President Yoon's impeachment, Han called for national unity. "I believe that there is no longer left or right. What matters most is how the country moves forward," he stated, urging the nation to come together as the verdict for the high-stake case is anticipated soon.
