Acting President Lee Ju-ho Pledges Unwavering Support for Korea’s Aerospace Industry

Sacheon: Acting President Lee Ju-ho announced the government's commitment to provide unwavering support to the aerospace industry during a ceremony commemorating the inaugural Aerospace Day at the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) headquarters. The event took place in Sacheon, located 291 kilometers southeast of Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee emphasized the government's dedication to investing in the future of Korea's aerospace sector with KASA playing a pivotal role. He stated, "The government will provide unsparing support to the bids investing in the future of the Republic of Korea's aerospace sector, with the Korea AeroSpace Administration at its center."

Lee further outlined plans to develop the aerospace industry into clusters and spearhead new global standards by advancing key technologies, such as reusable launch vehicles and ultra high-definition satellites. Aerospace Day, established on May 27 of the previous year, marks the launch of KASA.

In addition to the ceremony, Lee engaged with members of the aerospace industry, academia, and research institutions to gather insights and feedback. The education ministry has been backing graduate-level aerospace students through a special program since last year. Lee highlighted the importance of nurturing aerospace talent, stating, "Fostering aerospace talents is a key task that will determine our nation's technological sovereignty and future competitiveness."
