Authorities Issue Alert Following Fire on Mount Surak in Northern Seoul


Seoul: A fire erupted on Mount Surak in the Nowon district on Sunday, leading local authorities to issue an alert advising residents to avoid the area for their safety.



According to Yonhap News Agency, the fire began around 8:40 p.m. behind a community sports center in Sanggye-dong. In response, approximately 109 firefighters and 30 vehicles were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze. At this time, officials have not reported any details regarding potential damage caused by the fire.



The Nowon district has proactively sent alert messages to residents, urging them to steer clear of the fire site and to implement safety precautions, including closing their windows. Mount Surak spans from the Nowon district to nearby cities in Gyeonggi Province, situated north of Seoul.
