BOK Chief to Attend BIS Financial System Committee Meeting in Japan

Tokyo: Bank of Korea (BOK) Governor Rhee Chang-yong departed for Tokyo on Wednesday to participate in a significant meeting of key Bank of International Settlements (BIS) committees. The meeting will focus on the developments in payment systems and financial stability.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting is scheduled for Friday and will involve the Committee of the Global Financial System and the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures under the BIS. Rhee will engage with officials and experts from the U.S. Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, and other global organizations. The discussions will address major issues in global financial markets, and Rhee is expected to provide insights into South Korea's economic conditions and policy strategies.
