This session followed President Yoon Suk Yeol's unexpected declaration and subsequent lifting of martial law, which had significant implications for market stability.The BOK stated its intention to temporarily supply ample liquidity until market conditions stabilize. Starting Wednesday, the central bank plans to enhance short-term liquidity by engaging in repurchase agreements. A repurchase agreement involves the sale of a security with a commitment to repurchase it later at a predetermined price.President Yoon's declaration of martial law occu rred during a late-night address on Tuesday, citing "anti-state activities" by the opposition. However, the imposition of military rule was short-lived, as the National Assembly unanimously voted to reject it shortly after, leading to the lifting of martial law on Wednesday morning.
