Seoul: Cabinet meetings are set to exclude Lee Jin-sook, the head of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), from the list of attendees. A presidential spokesperson cited a decision by state auditors, who determined that her remarks allegedly violated political neutrality.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the decision came after the Board of Audit and Inspection issued a caution against Lee regarding her comments on social media about state affairs. Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung announced the exclusion a day after the caution was issued, stating that the Board found Lee in violation of the State Public Officials Act, which prohibits political activities by public officials.
Lee Jin-sook has been attending Cabinet meetings since she took office under former President Yoon Suk Yeol in July of the previous year. Her exclusion marks a significant shift in the current administration's approach, following the inauguration of President Lee Jae Myung.
