Seoul: Police have referred a Chinese national to the prosecution on charges of filming the headquarters of the state spy agency using a drone, officials said Monday. The individual, a man in his 40s, allegedly captured footage of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) headquarters, located in southern Seoul, while also filming the nearby Heolleung and Illeung Royal Tombs. These tombs are significant historical sites from the Joseon Dynasty, which spanned from 1392 to 1910.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the National Police Agency has referred the man to the prosecution last week. He faces charges of violating the Protection of Military Bases and Installations Act and the Cultural Heritage Protection Act. The incident has raised concerns about security and the protection of cultural heritage sites in the area.
