Seoul: Acting President Choi Sang-mok called for stronger cooperation between the central and local governments Friday to ensure swift stabilization of state affairs during a period of political uncertainties, his office said. Choi made the remarks in a meeting with governors and mayors of major cities and provinces, the finance ministry said.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Choi emphasized the need for joint efforts in several areas, including boosting domestic consumption and supporting local businesses and small merchants. He highlighted that collaboration is essential to stabilize state affairs quickly and alleviate public concerns.
In response, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok stressed the importance of mutual trust between central and local governments during what he called challenging times.
