CJ ENM Partners with Warner Bros. Discovery to Expand Korean Content Globally

Seoul: CJ ENM, the country’s leading entertainment company, announced a multiyear partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) aimed at producing and distributing Korean content to a global audience.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement includes the exclusive premieres of Korean dramas and original shows from CJ ENM and its streaming platform, Tving, on WBD’s HBO Max streaming service across 17 nations in the Asia Pacific region. This strategic collaboration will also introduce a Tving-branded hub within HBO Max, scheduled to launch early next year. In anticipation of the official launch, several Korean programs will be made available to international viewers starting in November.

To further extend the global influence of Korean content, the partnership will involve the joint production of original Korean TV series for distribution worldwide on HBO Max. CJ Group’s Vice Chairwoman, Miky Lee, expressed that the collaboration is expected to enhance CJ ENM’s mission of “connecting people through the power of storytelling,” by merging “Warner Bros. Discovery’s storytelling legacy with CJ’s unique voice.”

David Zaslav, president and CEO of WBD, shared similar enthusiasm for the partnership, describing it as “a cornerstone of our commitment to great locally relevant stories in key markets around the world.”
