CONTINUE PUSPAFIT@KOMUNITI PROGRAMME TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, PUSPANITA URGED

KUALA LUMPUR, The Association of Wives and Women Members of the Malaysian Civil Service (Puspanita) has been urged to continue organising its Puspafit@komuniti programme in an effort to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

Puspanita patron Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said according to the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2019, 1.7 million people in Malaysia had all three risk factors for diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle for the community.

"The Puspafit@komuniti programme seeks to (attract community interest in) taking better care of their health, not only through sports, but also other recreational activities.

"Also, most of us spend to much time on our handphones...(excessive) screen time, so we need a programme that allows us to interact with one another,” the Prime Minister's wife said when met after officiating the Puspafit @komuniti programme at the Bandar Tun Razak Sports Complex here today.

Dr Wan Azizah also urged Puspanita to make Puspafit @komuniti a platform to strengthen unity among the various races in the country.
