Seoul: The KOSPI 200 Index witnessed a notable decline as several major stocks experienced a drop in their closing prices. The index faced downward pressure with significant losses recorded across various sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SamsungF and MIns saw a decrease of 22,000, closing at 418,500. Kogas also faced a drop, closing at 41,300 after a loss of 1,650. HANALL BIOPHARMA ended at 25,700, down by 1,400, and Hanwha fell by 8,500 to close at 91,300. CJ's closing price was recorded at 146,100, a decrease of 9,100.
NAVER dropped by 10,000, closing at 225,000, while HyundaiEng and Const fell by 1,900 to 65,600. Kangwonland and IBK also saw declines, ending at 18,320 and 18,650, respectively. DONGSUH closed at 29,150, losing 650, and SamsungE and A decreased by 700 to 25,800. SAMSUNG C and T recorded a drop of 6,800, ending at 161,700.
PanOcean faced a decline of 250, closing at 3,960. SAMSUNG CARD decreased by 850, closing at 48,950, while CheilWorldwide ended at 19,570, down by 310. LOTTE WELLFOOD and KT recorded declines of 3,200 and 1,200, closing at 120,200 and 54,000, respectively.
Other notable declines included LG Uplus, which ended at 14,470, down by 160, and SAMSUNG LIFE, which decreased by 6,200 to close at 119,700. KT and G and Doosan Enerbility also saw declines, closing at 129,100 and 61,400, respectively.
Kakao and NCsoft recorded losses of 2,500 and 3,100, closing at 55,500 and 190,600, respectively. HANATOUR SERVICE ended at 53,200, down by 800, and COSMAX fell by 13,000 to close at 238,500. KIWOOM also declined by 15,000, ending at 200,500.
Despite the overall decline, Hanwha Ocean was an exception, recording an increase of 5,100 and closing at 117,400. Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Infracore, HANMISemi, and DWEC faced declines, ending at 15,180, 86,800, and 3,665, respectively.
KEPCO KPS and LG H and H saw significant losses, closing at 49,250 and 293,000, respectively. LGCHEM decreased by 11,500, ending at 290,000, while KEPCO E and C fell by 7,700 to close at 84,600. ShinhanGroup, HYUNDAI ROTEM, LGELECTRONICS, and L and F also recorded declines in their closing prices.
Celltrion ended at 171,300, down by 7,600, concluding a challenging day for the KOSPI 200 Index.
