Dodgers’ Kim Hye-seong Ends Hitless Drought with Crucial 2-Run Single

Los angeles: Kim Hye-seong of the Los Angeles Dodgers has ended a three-game hitless streak with a two-run single, although his efforts were not enough to secure a victory for his team.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim, batting seventh and playing second base, went 1-for-4 with two RBIs as the Dodgers were defeated by the Minnesota Twins 10-7 at Dodger Stadium. Before this game, Kim had been 0-for-8 in his last three games and had only eight hits in 41 at-bats during July.

During a crucial moment in the game, with the Dodgers trailing 6-3 and runners on second and third in the bottom of the sixth inning, Kim delivered a two-out single, bringing the game to a one-run difference. He then successfully stole second base for his 12th steal of the season, although he was left on base when Miguel Rojas struck out.

In his other plate appearances, Kim recorded two groundouts and a strikeout. His current batting average stands at .317 for the season, with a .200 average over 16 games in July.

Elsewhere in Major League Baseball, Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants went hitless in four at-bats, with a walk in a 9-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. His batting average has now fallen to .246.

In the American League, Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Kim Ha-seong missed his team's 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox due to back tightness. Kim left Monday's game against the White Sox after experiencing back issues while stealing second base. Rays manager Kevin Cash mentioned that Kim might also miss Wednesday's game but expressed hope that he would return for the start of a seven-game road trip in Cincinnati on Friday.

Kim has participated in only 10 games this season. He made his season debut on July 4 after recovering from shoulder surgery, but soon missed three games due to calf problems.
