Seoul: Democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung was leading his People Power Party (PPP) rival Kim Moon-soo with 45 percent support against Kim’s 36 percent, a survey showed Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a Gallup Korea survey conducted on 1,002 adults from Tuesday to Thursday placed candidate Lee Jun-seok of the minor New Reform Party in third with 10 percent support. Eight percent of respondents indicated they were undecided.
The survey revealed a decline in support for DP’s Lee by 6 percentage points compared to the previous week. In contrast, Kim and Lee Jun-seok experienced increases of 7 percentage points and 2 percentage points, respectively.
The liberal DP garnered 42 percent support, while the conservative PPP secured 36 percent. The survey’s margin of error was reported as 3.1 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
