EMADANI AID BRINGS RELIEF TO RECIPIENTS DURING MONSOON SEASON

KOTA BHARU, The RM100 eMADANI credit, available for redemption by eligible Malaysians since two days ago, has brought relief to recipients in the state, as it provides them with additional funds to buy essential items during the current monsoon season.

Restaurant assistant Fatin Amirah Shamsudin, 31, said she was grateful upon learning that she was eligible for the assistance after checking on her status yesterday.

"Alhamdulillah, I'm thankful for the assistance. It may not be a big amount for some people, but I can use it to buy essential items as I prepare for possible floods," she told Bernama today.

Being the eldest of three siblings, Fatin Amirah works as a restaurant assistant to support her mother, Azilah Yusof, who works as a cleaner at a bank in Pasir Tumboh.

Fatin Amirah said her 54-year-old mother, a single parent, was grappling with financial challenges and that with limited income, government support, particularly eMADANI, is highly anticipated.

She said that if her mother was also eligible for the assistance, they would use it to pay the electricity and water bills.

"With this initiative, we will be able to cover some of our expenses this month. Usually, during the monsoon season, we will make some preparations by stocking up on essential items," she said.

Meanwhile, fish satay trader Raja Muhd Naim Raja Hasyim, 32, said he would use the aid to buy items for his three-month-old baby, including disposable baby diapers.

"This help will help ease our expenses, especially given the unpredictable weather that sometimes hinders my business operations. I'm very thankful for the government's concern," he said.
