Seoul: Emart Inc. on Monday reported its first-quarter net profit of 83.6 billion won (US$59.5 million), marking a 184.4 percent increase from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the January-March period reached 159.3 billion won, which represents a 238.2 percent increase from a year ago, as disclosed in a regulatory filing. Additionally, sales experienced a marginal rise of 0.2 percent, amounting to 7.21 trillion won.
The operating profit surpassed the average estimate by 14.0 percent, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. However, an estimate for net profit was not provided.
