Seoul: South Korea's financial watchdog chief has discussed a variety of issues, such as capital market advancement and corporate governance reform, with his counterparts in Hong Kong and China, his agency said Thursday. Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) chief Lee Bok-hyun visited Hong Kong and China earlier this week to share views on financial supervision and enhance cooperation with top financial watchdogs there.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee Bok-hyun met Julia Leung, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong, and Wu Qing, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). These meetings aimed to deepen the dialogue on financial supervision and strengthen collaborative efforts between South Korea and these financial powerhouses.
During the meetings, they also discussed topics such as the regulation of capital markets, regulatory exchanges, and cooperation between the two sides, according to the FSS. This engagement signifies a concerted effort to bolster regulatory frameworks and ensure robust governance across regional markets.
