Seoul: Firefighters successfully contained a blaze at a building in central Seoul on Tuesday, prompting the evacuation of more than 100 people. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, officials confirmed.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the fire broke out at the Seoul Center Building near Seoul Plaza, right in front of the capital's City Hall. The blaze was contained within 44 minutes, and approximately 110 individuals were evacuated from the premises. Despite the alarming situation, only three people required emergency care.
The incident saw around 10 construction workers taking refuge on the building's rooftop, awaiting rescue. Fire authorities suspect that the fire originated on the third floor, where remodeling activities were ongoing. An investigation is underway to determine the precise cause of the fire.
