Fire Engulfs E-Land Fashion’s Logistics Center in Cheonan; Swift Response Prevents Casualties

Cheonan: A fire broke out at the logistics center of E-Land Fashion in the central city of Cheonan early Saturday, but no casualties were reported, according to firefighting authorities.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the fire occurred at the four-story logistics center in Cheonan, about 90 kilometers south of Seoul, at around 6 a.m. The main blaze was contained at 3:30 p.m., approximately nine and a half hours after it began, as reported by firefighters.

To combat the fire, authorities mobilized 430 personnel, 11 helicopters, and 150 pieces of equipment. Although the main blaze was contained, the response level is still being maintained at Level 2 due to numerous embers inside the center, officials noted.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported since the fire erupted hours before the workday commenced. On weekdays, the facility typically accommodates about 500 workers.
