Gyeongju: K-pop star G-Dragon will perform at a welcome dinner organized for global leaders attending the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, his agency announced Wednesday. G-Dragon is set to take the stage at the welcome event scheduled for Friday, marking the first day of the two-day summit in the southeastern city of Gyeongju.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Galaxy Corp confirmed that G-Dragon will be the sole K-pop artist performing at this high-profile event. Organizers emphasized that G-Dragon is considered the optimal figure to convey the values of connection and sustainability that APEC aims to promote.
G-Dragon was appointed as an honorary ambassador for the APEC gathering in July. He has also featured in a promotional video for the summit, which has garnered over 19 million views on YouTube.
