Seoul: Gender Equality Minister nominee Kang Sun-woo has announced her intention to step down following growing criticism over alleged workplace abuses during her tenure as a lawmaker.According to Yonhap News Agency, Kang faced intense scrutiny during her parliamentary confirmation hearing, with accusations of having legislative aides perform personal tasks, including household chores like disposing of food waste at her residence. In a Facebook post, Kang extended her apologies to the public, acknowledging the distress her actions have caused. She stated, "I offer my sincere apologies to the people for the pain I have caused. I humbly accept the criticism and will live with self-reflection."Kang further expressed her regret to President Lee Jae Myung, who had appointed her to the position, and to the ruling Democratic Party, acknowledging the burden her actions have placed on them.
