Government Announces Special Grants for Three Wildfire-Affected Regions

Seoul: The government has decided to allocate special grants to Sancheong and two other regions impacted by recent wildfires. This announcement was made by acting President Choi Sang-mok during a disaster control meeting.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the acting president stated that a special disaster and safety grant totaling 2.6 billion won (approximately US$177.4 million) will be distributed among the three regions affected by the wildfires. This financial support aims to aid in recovery efforts and assist the affected communities.

In addition to the special grant, the government will provide 50 million won in disaster relief funds specifically to support evacuees and victims in the southeastern county of Sancheong. This measure is intended to offer immediate assistance to those who have been displaced and affected by the wildfires.

The presidential office reported that Presidential Chief of Staff Chung Jin-suk held a meeting with senior secretaries to discuss strategies and measures to bring the situation under control promptly.
