GPMS ALUMNI READY TO OFFER VIEWPOINT ON PROPOSAL FOR GPMS BUILDING

The Federation of Peninsular Malay Students (GPMS) Alumni Association is ready to work with the federation to set up a committee to find the best way to realise the proposed construction of Wisma GPMS.

National GPMS Alumni Association president Datuk Syed Anuar Syed Mohamad said the commitment was expressed following the fact that even after 75 years of its establishment, GPMS has no building to call its own.

“Indeed talk is cheap but if it is not expressed then surely time will pass without any concrete effort.

“My dream and hope are to start it now even though we may not be around when Wisma GPMS comes into being,” he said while speaking at the 10th National GPMS Alumni Annual General Meeting here tonight.

Also present at the event, was the deputy president of the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) Alumni Association Datuk Abdullah Abu Bakar representing Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah who is also MBM Alumni Association president as well as GPMS president Muhd Fazreen Ismadi.

He also wished that the GPMS Alumni Association could join forces with MBM Alumni Association to facilitate the programmes that have been planned and help other youth organisations.

“Because we see a new scenario will occur in youth leadership in the future when the act limits youth to the age of 30 in 2026, we see that the alumni will play a very important role in helping these youths,” he said.
