Seoul: Hanwha Solutions Corp. on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter net loss of 124.2 billion won (US$85.8 million). The company's operating profit for the October-December period was 107 billion won, up 70.8 percent from a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing. Sales rose 21.6 percent to 4.64 trillion won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the loss was 31.2 percent lower than the average estimate, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. Despite the significant net loss, the increase in operating profit and sales reflects some positive performance in the company's operations during the quarter.
