Seoul: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. announced on Thursday that its fourth-quarter net income reached 366.6 billion won (US$253.2 million), marking a tenfold increase from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company revealed in a regulatory filing that it achieved an operating profit of 282.2 billion won for the quarter. This is a significant rise from 138.7 billion won recorded a year earlier. The company's revenue also saw an uptick of 17.4 percent, reaching 4 trillion won.
The operating profit figures were consistent with the average estimate derived from a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency.
