HD Hyundai Samho Secures 386 Billion-Won Container Ship Order in Oceania

Seoul: HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., a South Korean shipbuilder, announced it has secured a 386.8 billion-won (US$280 million) order to construct two container carriers for a client in the Oceania region. The company confirmed that the vessels are scheduled for phased delivery to an undisclosed shipping company in Oceania by March 2028, as detailed in a regulatory filing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai Samho Heavy is one of three affiliates under HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE), along with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. HD KSOE serves as a subholding company of HD Hyundai, previously known as Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings.

The recent order contributes to HD KSOE's shipbuilding contracts, which have reached a value of $6.98 billion this year. This figure represents 38.7 percent of the company's annual order target of $18.05 billion.
