Kathmandu: Flash floods and landslides across the Himalayan border region of Nepal and China's autonomous region of Tibet on Wednesday have resulted in a devastating toll. The disaster has claimed at least 682 lives, with nearly 3,000 individuals still missing, including several hundred tourists. The Nepal Tourism Board stated that among the missing were 149 Nepali tourists and 98 individuals from India, although 85 Indians have been rescued.The United States State Department announced on Thursday that 90 American citizens were missing, with three rescued. The Nepal Tourism Board later adjusted this figure to 65 missing Americans. Ukrainian citizens are also among those unaccounted for, with the embassy in Nepal confirming 62 missing individuals, while the Nepal Tourism Board reported 51.Australia's government revised its numbers to 41 missing nationals.
