Hybe Founder Bang Si-hyuk Leads Stock Wealth Among New Listed Firm Founders


Seoul: Bang Si-hyuk, chairman and founder of K-pop powerhouse Hybe Co., has been identified as the wealthiest individual in terms of stock value among founders of companies that have gone public in the last five years, industry data revealed.



According to Yonhap News Agency, data from corporate tracker CEO Score showed that Bang Si-hyuk held a 31.6 percent stake in Hybe, valued at 3.5 trillion won (US$2.5 billion) as of the end of September. His holdings represent 15.6 percent of the total 22.5 trillion won in stock value owned by the top 100 businesspeople whose firms have been listed since 2020.



Kim Byung-hoon, founder and CEO of beauty tech firm APR Co., ranked second with stock holdings worth 3 trillion won. He was followed by Chang Byung-gyu of gamemaker Krafton Inc., whose stock value stands at 2.1 trillion won, and Park Dong-suk of Sanil Electric Co., with 1.2 trillion won.



The list also included two women: Prestige BioPharma founder Park So-yeon and Inventage Lab Inc. founder Kim Ju-hee, making them notable entrants in the male-dominated field of stock wealth among newly listed company founders.
