Seoul: Hybe Co. has announced a significant increase in its second-quarter net income, reporting a profit of 15.5 billion won (US$11.2 million), marking a 53.5 percent rise from the same period last year. This growth highlights the company's ability to enhance its profitability despite challenging market conditions.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating profit for the April-June period saw a 29.5 percent year-on-year increase, reaching 65.9 billion won. Additionally, Hybe's sales experienced a 10.2 percent rise, totaling 705.7 billion won for the quarter.
Despite these positive figures, the earnings did not meet market expectations. Analysts, as surveyed by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency, had projected an average net profit of 58.7 billion won. This shortfall suggests that while the company is growing, there may be external factors affecting its performance relative to market predictions.
