Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed significant fluctuations as Hyosung Heavy and HD Hyundai recorded notable movements in their closing prices. Hyosung Heavy's shares decreased by 54,000, closing at 1,224,000, while HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw an increase of 8,500, closing at 475,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LG Energy Solution and KRAFTON also experienced upward trends, with their shares rising by 2,500 and 6,000, closing at 386,500 and 325,500 respectively. Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Electric faced a decline, with a decrease of 5,000, closing at 502,000.
YoulchonChem and Netmarble reported gains, with YoulchonChem's shares increasing by 300 to close at 35,300, and Netmarble's shares rising by 3,100 to reach 61,900. Conversely, Hanwha Systems and Lotte Wellfood observed decreases, with their shares dropping by 100 and 1,500, closing at 56,700 and 118,400 respectively.
The energy and materials sectors also saw mixed results. MIWON SC's shares went up by 500, closing at 143,300, while SKCHEM faced a decline of 1,700, closing at 67,300. In the retail sector, BGF Retail's shares increased by 1,400, closing at 122,400.
In the financial sector, Woori Financial Group and KakaoBank experienced increases, with Woori Financial Group's shares rising by 300 to close at 25,350 and KakaoBank's shares increasing by 300, closing at 27,200. SKBP recorded a decline, with a drop of 1,900, closing at 99,600.
Other noteworthy movements included HYBE, which saw a significant increase of 18,500, closing at 277,500, and kakaopay, which rose by 3,700, closing at 66,100. Meanwhile, CheilWorldwide and SKSQUARE reported gains, with increases of 210 and 1,600, closing at 20,050 and 141,900 respectively.
