Hyundai, Kia Experience 2.3% Decline in European Sales in July

Brussels: Combined vehicle sales of South Korea's leading automaker Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Corp. in Europe fell 2.3 percent from a year earlier in July, industry data showed Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the data from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) revealed that Hyundai and Kia sold a combined 91,819 units in Europe last month. The ACEA data indicated that Hyundai Motor's sales increased by 3.9 percent on-year to 49,148 units, while Kia's sales dropped 8.5 percent to 42,671 units.

The South Korean automakers recorded combined sales of 631,027 units in Europe during the January-July period, reflecting a 4.1 percent decrease from the same period last year. The combined market share of Hyundai and Kia in Europe during the first seven months of the year was calculated at 8 percent, down 0.3 percentage point from last year.
