Hyundai Mobis Targets Over 8% Annual Sales Growth by 2027

Seoul: Hyundai Mobis Co., South Korea's leading auto parts maker, has set an ambitious target to achieve an average sales growth of over 8 percent annually by 2027. The company is also aiming for an average operating profit margin of 5-6 percent under its newly unveiled short-term business vision. This announcement was made by Chief Executive Officer Lee Gyu-suk during the company's 2025 CEO Investor Day held in Seoul, which was attended by investors, analysts, and credit rating officials.

According to Yonhap News Agency, in 2024, Hyundai Mobis reported sales of 57 trillion won (US$40.8 billion), marking a 3.4 percent decline from the previous year. Despite this dip in sales, the company's operating income saw a significant increase, jumping 33.9 percent year-on-year to 3.07 trillion won. To foster sustainable growth, Hyundai Mobis is restructuring its business portfolio with an emphasis on profitability. The company aims to achieve its growth targets through product specialization and resource reallocation toward future core technologies.

Hyundai Mobis plans to enhance its global market presence by increasing the share of global customers in core parts sales to 40 percent by 2033. The company intends to deepen partnerships in North America and Europe and expand orders in high-growth markets such as China and India through localized product strategies and reinforcement of supply chains.

In terms of technology, Hyundai Mobis is set to strengthen its competitiveness in key future mobility areas, including electrification, electronics, semiconductors, and robotics. A notable innovation showcased by the company is a next-generation windshield display using holographic optical film, which will transform the windshield into a transparent screen. This product is scheduled for launch in 2029 in partnership with German optics firm Zeiss.

To prepare for the software-defined vehicle (SDV) era, Hyundai Mobis is developing a standardized platform that enables software-based control across different vehicle types. The company also aims to lead in the automotive semiconductor field, which is critical for powering engines, safety systems, infotainment, and self-driving sensors. It has developed 16 types of automotive chips and plans to produce 20 million units this year, with 11 next-generation chips currently under development.

In the robotics sector, Hyundai Mobis announced its entry into the actuator market, leveraging its expertise in vehicle steering systems. Actuators, which control robot movement, share core components with electronic steering systems. Starting with actuators, the company plans to expand into sensors and controllers, further solidifying its position in the market.
