Detroit: Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung is set to deliver a keynote speech at a U.S. forum, which is anticipated to draw numerous prominent figures from the automotive industry, including General Motors Co. (GM) CEO Mary Barra, as per the event organizers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the forum, named Automotive News Congress, is scheduled to take place on September 11 in Detroit. The event will be conducted under the theme "Driving the Future: Innovation and Transformation in the Global Automotive Industry."
The forum will feature several notable participants, including GM CEO Mary Barra, who is also slated to deliver a keynote address. The event will also include officials from South Korean battery maker LG Energy Solution Ltd., S and P Global Mobility, among other firms.
In a significant development last December, Hyundai Motor and GM signed an initial agreement for the joint production of passenger cars and the development of eco-friendly energy technologies, such as electric and hydrogen. This marked Hyundai's first comprehensive cooperation agreement with a major foreign carmaker.
