Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. has unveiled an upgraded version of its ST1 electric van, introducing enhanced convenience features and a new budget-friendly trim for the cargo model. The launch, which took place on Wednesday, marks a significant development in Hyundai's efforts to cater to customer needs and expand its electric vehicle offerings.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the ST1, first launched last year, is powered by a 76.1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery. The standard cargo model of the van offers a range of up to 317 kilometers per charge, while the refrigerated version provides a slightly lower range of 298 kilometers. This latest upgrade is largely based on customer feedback, indicating Hyundai's commitment to adapting its products to meet market demands.
In response to customer suggestions, Hyundai has incorporated several new options for the Smart trim of the updated ST1. These include a sun visor mirror and a passenger-side assist handle. Additionally, the automaker has enhanced the optional convenience package to feature ventilated and heated seats for the front passenger, aiming to improve overall comfort and usability.
To make the ST1 more accessible to small business customers, Hyundai has introduced a new lower entry-level Style trim within the cargo lineup. This new trim retains popular features but comes at a more affordable price point, thereby lowering the cost barrier for potential buyers.
A Hyundai Motor official expressed optimism regarding the updated model, stating, "We anticipate that the updated ST1 will offer improved productivity for customers based on the updated model's value from customer feedback."
