Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. reported a 2.1 percent increase in its February sales compared to the previous year, driven by a significant boost in domestic demand that countered a decline in overseas sales. The automaker announced that it sold a total of 322,399 vehicles last month, an increase from 315,593 units sold in the same month last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, domestic sales surged by 20.1 percent year-on-year to 57,216 units, while overseas sales experienced a slight decline of 1.1 percent, amounting to 265,123 units. The Avante emerged as the top-selling model in the domestic market with 6,295 units sold, followed by the Grandeur sedan with 5,481 units. The Santa Fe was the leading sport utility vehicle (SUV) in terms of domestic sales, with 5,076 units sold.
A Hyundai official stated, "We will maximize sales by optimizing our production and sales operation while actively responding to uncertain business environments by improving our model lineup." The company remains focused on enhancing its production strategies and expanding its model offerings to navigate the challenges in the global automotive market.
