Seoul: The independent counsel responsible for investigating corruption allegations against former first lady Kim Keon Hee has indicated that she is likely to be questioned in person. This announcement comes amid reports that Kim has been hospitalized with a non-critical illness.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Min Joong-ki, who was appointed by President Lee Jae-myung last week, revealed this possibility to reporters outside his office in southern Seoul. Min emphasized that the decision would be discussed further once the deputy special counsels are appointed, stating, "I think it is likely to happen."
Min also noted that he became aware of Kim's hospitalization through media reports. The former first lady is facing accusations of various irregularities, including alleged involvement in a stock price manipulation scheme, acceptance of a luxury handbag, and interference in election nominations.
